They are different mediums, obviously, but they are united by their post-modern aesthetics. Performance/live art are known as “happenings” while installations and video art tend to be among the realm of gallery work. However, they are all a product of our post-modern society in which we live in today. Their root started to take place in the 1900’s. Hope that helps.
